La danza de Miguel...

Fell asleep after working on powerpoints. Here we go again...

La danza de Miguel

Today started with my discovery that our class' CNY decorations are becoming more and more weak compared to the other upgrading clases. That's it! I'm gonna do all that I can tomorrow to repair the decors! Mark my words!...

For recess, I asked Shil if I could learn another stanza of 'He's A Pirate' from the Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl soundtrack. I've been secretly practicing parts of the song in my house using my Younger Sister's mini keyboard (I know its suppose to be embarassing, but that's how desperate and determine I am on learning the piano. After hearing Shil, Kirby, Junn Kit and many other 'Mozart's that made up most of the class population, I told myself, 'It's about time you leart to play the darn instrument too.')

He willingly (but probably painfully) agreed and was hurriedly lead to the SAC piano by a childishly-excited me. He then played the whole song first, followed by the first stanza, then did my best to follow behind. He tought me a few handy tricks on playing the piano, and I must say, I'm pretty surprised with his skills(exclamation point.). A few people were watching and some reprimanded him along the way, but he kept on teaching me, and I'm thankful for that. Thanks, Shil.

After learning the first and famous stanza, I made my way back to the class just in time for me to prepare for the Journey to the West (Side of the Old School Compound Where the Laboratories Are Found) before the teacher made the class 'get down' ('knock it down') again. Phew. Three weeks and still maintaining...

For the practical today, we experimented with a few elements that reacted with water in a way boys would call 'smashing'! And boy, did it go with a bang! When Mdm called the class to gather, I ended up arriving late and the area around the lab's shield was already full before I even had a chance to be a couple of meters close. So seeing that the crowd overflowed all the way to the back of the teacher, I decided to watch from there. The experiments were gonna be performed right in front of me without a shield protecting me from possible flares, burns and deafness but I was willing to take my chances. Now fill in the blanks:

1) First on the list was ________, which only sizzled in the water before slowly dissolving away. Nothing much scary so everyone stood their ground. Then the next element was gonna be tested and they brought in a larger tank to contain the water in. Some knew well what this meant and slowly stepped back, but most of us were still where we were.

2) Next was ________, which gave off hydrogen gas for a few seconds before bursting into orange flames! We were amazed and gave a good applause before asking for the last element. This was the part where most of the students present backed off. But somehow, I stood my ground. Junn Kit was already telling me to stand back, but my curiosity had the best of me.

3) Last was ________, which had the same response as the previous element, just that there were 2 additional effects. First, the flame popped itself into a purple colour instead of orange. We applauded louder and stared at the nice flame as it swirled around the tank. Then came the second effect. The ________ suddenly gave a loud "POP!" and dissapeared infront of our eyes. We looked in amazement, not realising that the ________ was flying in the air. And when an element is shot towards the ceilling, even those behind the shield aren't safe. The ________ sprinkled down on top of ONLY those who were in front of the shield, and those within the line of fire were COMPLETELY safe! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! You should have seen the face on Tim when the liquid smuthered on top of his right arm! AHaaaaaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! (Sigh) That was priceless.

For CL'B', Shawn was at it again. He went out of the class on his own accord, even when the teacher was yelling at him to come back. When he came back, he sat down and spat across the table (In CL'B', we all use the same Boardroom table). Things just get more and more entertaining, don't they? I've yet to deduce the explanaton for all this, but I can wait.

For Training, I'm satisfied with my progress; I've been constantly beating Derek in a single for the past week! Yay! Next in line is Ryan. May God be with me!... Then after training, I can final declare here that I've made my first 'chatty' conversation with the Seniors! Woohoo! For those who don't know, I'm well known for my alarming quietness in Canoeing, and my emotions in class is more than quartripple what I am in Canoeing. In fact, I've been known as The Emotionless Guy by one of my friends. But after that conversation with many of the Seniors, I feel so understood! You know, that comment from Ei Pin ("Hey! Don't mess with Raemiguel! He's damm powerful!") really shocked me. Hearing that from him is somewhat an honour for a guy like me. Some saw, but for a quarter of my walk to the bus stop, I was actually dancing. Me and my weird emotions...

Now've gotta complete my E Sci and Com Sci PowerPoints by tonight! Wish me luck...

Decorate the Imperial Palace...

Today's the day. I strolled into my class, clutched hands at the side. I went to my table, dropped my bags, and took out my weaponry. Shoved a ball of string in my 'free' pocket, and tossing my scissors into the air before catching it and sliding it into my waist adjuster in a simple but swift move, I navigated my way around the class, starting my renovation mission to uphold the beauty of the class. I was not going to watch the class crumble into a mess and let another class take a prize that belongs to us! No way! CNY is ours! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Then for E Sci, I handed my PowerPoint about the population problem in Israel to Mdm via email. Thanks go to Ting Wei, who I had to borrow the Internet from, and God, for without Him, none of this would have been possible. Amen! Mdm seems more stressed today, but I'll keep playing along...

Next was a CL'B' lesson I'd never expect.

Shawn Khoo, in the presence of the class, including Mdm, chalenged me into an arm wrestling match.

Wow. Timeout. What just happened? Shawn askes me for a round of arm wrestling (and we all know he's gonna win) and there goes the rest of the class cheering me on to try him out. Even the teacher said she permitted it if I wantred to go. I somehow ended up saying yes, and next thing I know I'm seated opposite Shawn, holding his hand and doing all I could to force it down. But like everyone predicted, I lost after sustaining for half a minute.

Who cares?! I've got a Chinese Letter to write!! Soon, other people start asking me to chalenge them too. I kept telling them the Chinese Letter excuse, but they kept on persisting, and I kept on writing. Typical me.

Recess was just sad. Raam was asking me if I could go eat with him, and I agreed. But when I said I was going to sit with the Henry Boys again, he slowly started to back away into the crowd. While I ate my Egg Prata with them guys, someone suddenly brought in the subject of a Raam sitting all alone at a table across the other side of the canteen. We all watched in whisper-quiet observation, and I wasn't sure of the others, but I felt so sad for the guy. So once I finished my Prata (Mmm...) I made my way to his table, sat down and chatted with him. Soon, Shill joined in and we were making fun out of each other with minor sitcom debates! Good to see Raam smiling again.

For White Space, we had another round of E Sci today, and by now the school had already shut downed all the air-cons, and so after enduring the heat for 6 minutes, I hurriedly asked ZW for the class key, unlocked all the doors and windows and opened all of them (except the Hard Window) WIDE. But after a period, the prefects ahd to make their way to the New Audi for the rehearsals of our swearing-in, andso we left another Geog teacher dissapointed that her lesson's falling apart with great winds blowing through the classroom like Hurricane Durian and with a quarter of the Class population missing. Sigh.

We made it to the New Audi, which was empty and abbandoed when we arrived. So just to occupy time while waiting for our next instructions, we started playing around with the stage! And it was fun! Cal had a chance to play Pastor, Jai to be a quior boy, Ben Sim to be Miss Fanny Tan and I to be Dr. Ong! I actually sat on Dr. Ong's seat! Yay! But soon, the un had to fade as more and more people joined in the fun, decreasing the speciality factor. Sigh...

So for the next couple of hours, we prefects were all practicing our seating, standing, walking, swearing, timing and hand raising over and over and over again. Tire tire, sweat sweat. But after we finally nailled it, we Year 2's recieved our new Prefect Ties! Yahoo! I looked smashing with the new dark blue on! Haha! Now to wear this for the reast of my mortal ACS(I) life!...

Ah, well. All I can reveal now is that I'll be at the back row, 7th from the right. So watch out for me! God be with me on this!...
