Please pull the safety bar tightly over your thighs...

The first day of school 2007! This may sound wierd, but to tell you the truth, I almost died in the excitement! Literally! (I almost fainted at assembly after the Pledge.) I praised the Lord it got killed of chunk by chunk, otherwise I wouldn't know which hospital I'd go to.

But what do I mean by 'kill'? Well...

I was late for Prefect Fall-In, and had a tough scolding with a few other late-commers (We Prefects take punctuality seriously.) Then I found out they didn't assign me a duty for today, so I went to assemble at the SpaceFrame, along with my class. This rose my excitement by a standard much. Then I had to line up at the back of the class row, which rose the excitement even more 'cause I could only see the back of familiar people, so I didn't really see if they changed much or not. (This was the part when I almost fainted!) Then after Prayer and Announcements, we were dismissed. I quickly grabbed my stuff and marched towards Lamentations. Remembering what he once chalendged me on breaking his voice into a pitch lower than mine, I stopped a meter from him, pointed straight at his face and shouted, "SPEAK!". After repeating it twice, he turned around and said, "What?" in a pitch that, to me, seemed the same as before. Satisfied that I still won, I greeted, "Oh, okay. Hi!"

Then later after mingling with some other classmates while walking back to our classroom, I finally arrived. I see the class with neatly arranged tables in rows of two, wondering which table was I destined to rest my flesh hills upon. After checking around, I asked for directions from ol' Justin, who was always willing to help. (Apparently, a little too helpful. Such that it makes him annoying to the rest of the class...) Finding my residence, I deloaded myself of my bagages and rested. For those who don't know, my neighbour is Michael. It was just then when my new Form Teacher arrived! Oh, well; it was good while it lasted. This teacher was suppose to be our Language Arts Teacher, and he was settling lots of admin stuff with us for the next 2-3 hours.

One of these matters was the Class Committe. This part was quite shocking for some, apparently, as some likely, and unlikely people had their chance of Power for this Term. Basically, out of complete randomness and with no prior history of the students whatsoever, our teacher picked out the Class Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secetary, Treasurer and PE Representitives. So Reuben and had PE Rep, Peter had Treasurer, Zeng Rong had Secetary, Calvin had Vice-Chair... and guess who has power over all of Dan with authority only under Teaching Staff? *Thunder*

Lamentations!

He tried to reject the offer, but the teacher explained that he was trying to give the students good remarks to get us to Sec 3 next year, which causes a change in Parlament once every Term or Month. You should have seen how he begged Calvin to take over the post. Oh well.

After the admin was settled, it was Mother Tounge! Went to the same ol' classroom and awaited for whomever the teacher that will bestow the burden of teaching weak Chinese to us weak students. And apparently, it was a lady. Now to tell you a portion of my fears,... I'm afraid of Chinese Language Teachers. It's even worse when the teacher's a 'she'. This is because back in Nanyang, almost all the teachers who've taught me Chinese were female, and boy, the expectation standards for Chinese is to me like Mt. Everest by the power of 17. And I'm still at a Base Camp at 400 Feet. So when those teachers scold students like me, man they can wack up a hurricane. I guess that's one of the reasons why I'm so obeidient to teachers. I guess. But so far, this teacher shows no signs of errupting easily. Yet.

After this was recess! Wanted to put my stuff upstairs in class first before going down to the newly extended canteen to see if they finally added the new three shops, but apparently got caught in the class itself. Zheng-Wei asked about my animation, and since he was a very nice friend of mine, I decided to give him a sneak preview. I showed him my not-yet-completed animation film which apparently I can't tell you what it's about 'cause I think it'd be better if you saw it for yourself, and which is quite impossible here cause you can't post Powerpoint in a blog. So it was only suppose to be a VIP viewing of only him, otherwise it would spoil the surprise for the other people who were involved in a different way. Then Matthew came along and watched. I thought it wouldn't hurt if I let him watch too since he's a great fan of my animation skills. Then came Junn Kit, then Tim, then others who I couldn't keep track of. Well, it went overhand and I couldn't do much about it. So I just kept the film rolling. I received a few compliments and few badf remarks, but overall, I think I just made the cut. Let me emphasize on the word 'just'. Made Zheng-Wei laugh, so I guess he was satisfied. I guess that's all that matters so far. Praise the Lord!

Before recess almost ended, the ACPri Boys were arm wrestling each other, and I was watching. Then somehow they asked if I could join in, having the fact that I was a Canoeist, and according to them Canoeing was a sport looked up as one of the toughest sports in the school, besides Rugby and Soccer. Telling myself "What have I got to loose?", I went to their table and chalendged Kirby, who was the champion of the group so far. Now, if you know me for as much as a year or so, you might be asking, "What's so scary about arm wrestling them? Compared to you, all of them except Kirby, Shil and Wei Yang are concidered minatures!". Well, telling you another piece of my old heritage in Nanyang, ussually it was the tough guys who would call for me to arm wrestle with time after time, and I would ussually loose. (Don't worry, these guys were and are still friends.) So Kirby and I sat opposite each other, arms apart, fist aclasp. And so it started; I was able to equalise with Kirby for the next 1.5 mins or so! Never really felt how that was like for quite some time. After staying at the same position no matter how hard we pushed, we both decided to just call it a draw and stop. He then told me that he never had an equal before, so I decided to admit to him that I've never won for quite some time. When everyone heard that, they all laughed in disbelief, saying it was a very good joke. I repeated it another three times, but then decided to leave the truth to their own discression.

Next up was Physical Science! This teacher was a whole lot different to the one I had last year, that I can tell you! She seemed quite motivated and ready to get down and dirty to get us all working together. Well, let's just see what happens along the weeks to come...

Soon we had to be dismissed for a briefing about the OEP Camp we're gon'na have in less than a week's time! And I tell you, the describtions of the camp were, to me, very promising. Ferry ride to Desaru, Shell Collecting, Hitchhiker Shalets, Generous Meals, Sandcastle Sculpturing, Abseiling, Flying Fox, Fireflies and a Whole Night Alone with Friends in the Middle of the Beach to Spook Each Other Out? PRAISE THE LORD, MY GOD ALMIGHTY!!! [Does a Soul Gospel Dance]

[5 min later...] Woo! That was good! Thank you, Lord! Man, I can't wait for this trip, it's gonna be so cool!!!

After that was Chapel, which seemed apparently long, so I had to really brace myself through the aircon and speech. Dr. Ong was telling about this year's theme 'You are the light of the world', a verse I took to heart a couple of years ago. After that was his reveiling of the targets again like all the other years. 12 Golds are the target for Sports and Games CCAs, so I must really work hard this year! After that and some worship songs which apparently I could actually sing with this voicebox of mine, we were dismissed.

And that raps it up for this special day. Hope you enjoyed the ride. Please lift the safety bar up and exit towards the right. Thank you, and have a nice day!

Man, I'm so looking forward to school tomorrow...
