Discovered during PE that we were going to recieve our own personal training plan for PE lessons until NAPHA. I heard the components of what the others had to go through (6 Laps, 5 tuck-jumps, 3 tries on SBJ, ect.), but when she got to my name, she said that I could get straight As, saying that I "could be a PE Coach already". How nice. Toj, Koon Min and Ting Wei were also 'coaches' and we all were actually permitted to play games if only we had a larger group. Sad. So Mdm made us do small amounts of each event and we were dismissed. Yayzers!
Life Science Practical was the last part of the three-part lesson on DNA Fingerprinting, and all we had to do was mix the mastermix-ed sample with buffer and micropipette it in the Electrophoresis Chamber. Then we had a lecture on what we just did and other things to take note of. And in the way the lecture went, I must admit that Life Science lessons are starting to get more enjoyable these days!
Next was ePOD, and we found out that we've got a new Philosophy teacher: Ms Jean Luah! FOr those who don't know, she was my Language Arts teacher last year, so since the class knew her standards of deciefering and systematic thinking, we weren't surprise to find her in this lesson. We applauded when she asked how we felt for her to come back and be our teacher again, and so we gave her encouragement to teach us for the next three terms. Yays!
After that was ISO, where I attended a Oral Defence of a few guys, and now I've got a rough idea of what they want. So all I need now is to animate my stuff, and I can nail down Mrs. Anna Lim with satisfaction! (I'm not sure if I used the term 'nail down' in the right context, but I meant it in a non-religeous and positive way. Boy, I need to learn the definitions of modern slang.)
For Mother Tongue, I had to do a mock oral test and talk for two minutes about OEP. Many people before me couldn't say much as they'd have forgotten what happened in the outing and in what order. But when it came to my turn, I could remember the camp in great detail, as I wrote not one, but FOUR song spoofs about it. So although I scored a 6-upon-10 for Language, I scored 8-upon-10 for Content! And also in my Language Arts A paper last term, I could remember the whole of Act 1 Scene 1 of MidSummer Night's Dream as I spoofed it using the class! So from now on, when I need to study for an exam of a confussing subject, I shall make a spoof of it - wheather be it music or show - to help me remember the necasary details! Praise the Lord for creativity!
For training today, The StingRay (Me and Hao Qing) was to compete against The Mosquito (Kenneth and Joon Sin)! Won't mention how we raced, but in the end the Mosquito won, probably because Hao Qing's new to this breed of boats anyway. And my rotation was a little too fast for him to catch up. Will work on it.
