Today was the big day. My first preview of animation to the school cohord. Here begins the Animation saga!
Well, it all starts with people being sent out to their respective Last Ellectives to rehearse for their Reflections. But Michael, Shil and I were excused by Mr. Tay as he wanted us to be preparing for the Act in the fnale. We could be absent for our Elective Rehersals but must be present in the Library during the period of time. May the Lord be with the show, I thought to God.
I did my stuff at the Library but never met Shil or Mike, so I had to do things myself. But they already did their parts - Mike with lyrics, Shil with song - and animations are meant for one-man processes, so they could go if they wanted. I quickly rushed through (Play Track: To the Pirates' Cave) as many details as I could and had a few visitors coming to see what I was doing, like Raam and Darren Tay, who finished the rehearsals for Combat Skirmish. This was the first time I saw and heard Darren as a normal person. It was so, well, normal. But he was complaining about Mr. Gavin Ang, which I could't find the links between his cause and evidences. But nevertheless, I saw him normal, and I'm now at ease with him.
Soon, I was running out of battery and had no choice but to quickly transfer to class and continue my stuff from there. Hoping that Mr. Tay would understand if he asks, I went on with the emergency plan and met Shil in the class. He was in charge of the music/beat for Michael to rap along to, so once it was Recess, I stopped working on my animation and went down for a quick meal, while Shil was still in class composing a beat for Mike. And once I was done, vice versa. I then had to also move around from LT3 to LT1 and follow my Last Elective to join them in their Reflections Presentation. (Apparently, the entire group had to present, so one way or another, I'd have to join them anyway.)
Once done with the presentations, I was instructed to go to the back of the Theatre to add my finishing touches to the slides before showtime, which was close to 12.40 p.m.. I had to sit along with Mike so he'd know what'll happen during the presentation. I had to disconnect from him once as he had to attend to his Last Elective for the presentation of Deaf Awareness. By now, people from other levels have been flooding into the theatre, and as such I had to constantly move more and more to the back until I ended up sitting along with the student cohord. Managed to find a spot in my class (Edge of center Row, Next to Matt) and continued with my work.
Then came the finale. Mr. Tay told Mike and to come down to the stage with the thumbdrive containing the animated slides and the beat. So while we waited for our que, we could watch the teachers giving their speeches from the back. Nice experience, if you ask me. Once done, the teachers marked of the final two items to end off the Camp. First was suppose to be a 2.11 film about a compilation of opinins, but then the wire connecting Mr. Tay's computer to the projector appeared to have jammed, and nothing could be shown onto the screen. Thus that item was cancled and Mike was quickly instructed to perform his rap by himself. Dissapointed, but yet thankful that God was still there to watch me, I walked back to my seat and met up with the class.
When I sat down, I noticed that Mike was having a hard time remembering the lyrics and saying it out normally for Mr. Tay to write onto the whiteboard. So I took my PC down to read out the lyrics from my slides. But just then, the techie asked if they could use my computer instead. Still thinking that the problem was in the wire, I asked if they were certain that it would work but I still handed it over to them. And in a matter of seconds in setting up, the slides appeared on the screen. The guys I sat next to just then noticed that I had one-bar batt left (Really low battery), and so Tim helped to bring JKit's spare batt to the stage for me to use. Thanks, guys! And so the show was on! It was rather basic animation, but still worth it. I thanked God that He was still there, and was also thankful that I had enough faith to go through the scene.
And even after Mike's rap, I ended up helping 2.11 showing their film, even when their item was suppose to be permanantly cancled, and because they left their thumbdrive in my computer during set-up. So I satisfied many parties through that computer I brought. Praise the Lord! Would have celebrated by staying back for a little lunch, but I had tution, and so needed to get back quickly. Ah, well. Note: The past few paragraphs were a bit rushed as I'm still in the rush mood. Sorry for inaccuracies.
By the way, here's a reminder:
Ben's Concert is on Good Friday and the next day (Next Fri and Sat) at his Church in Bukit Timah Plaza, so try to be there!
Faith Is All You Need Co. supports the show! Hahahah! God be with y'all!
